This is footage from the 2009 Sema show of Piss’d Off Pete, a 1960 Peterbilt Hot Rod Truck built by Randy Grubb for Jay Leno. It’s got a twin supercharged 14 liter two stroke diesel V12 that makes 500 hp and over 1000 ft-lbs of torque.
This little monster was built by the guys at Hudlow Axle in Georgia. It’s got a chopped VW Bug/Beetle shell sitting on top of a custom tube chassis with air suspension. The front end is a highly modified Jeep Cherokee 2WD axle and the tire burning motivation comes from an engine from a Suzuki GSX-R1000.
This project is along the same theme as another hot rod truck that I’ve posted. I don’t have many details on this one. It’s based off a 1935 Ford. The 4×4 hot rod sits on air ride suspension with 39 inch tires in the front and 44’s in the back.
This is a video from Pebble Beach in 2010 where they honored some of the pioneers of Bonneville speed records of years past. One of the cars they look at is still the current record holder for flathead V8’s going 236 mph. The SoCal Speed Shot P38 belly tank car was also in attendance along with it’s builder. It’s definitely a cool look into an era of real American ingenuity that is still being carried on today.
